Asia

China: Randy & Angela Smith

The Lord introduced Randy & Angela to each other by divine appointment in August 1997 at the Passion for Jesus conference in Kansas City, MO. That is where we have started with this adventure He leads us on. Though we knew each other only a little except from conferences, the Lord spoke to us individually, and He confirmed to us, from both families and trusted friends that we were to be together. Finally, God united us in marriage on Christmas day 1999, in Hong Kong and we followed that with a thanksgiving ceremony in Iowa on January 15, 2000. Then according to Deut. 24:5, we obeyed the Lord and settled in Iowa for the first year and a half to build up a firm foundation in our marriage before we moved forward to our next stage. Angela has been a minister in Hong Kong since 1992. Before we got married, He had placed Asia in Randy heart and called him into ministry. As to obey His guidance, we moved to North Carolina in August of 2001 and Randy attended MorningStar School of Ministry. Randy completed the school in June of 2003 and both of us were on staff at MorningStar Ministries for about three years in different departments and served as leaders of prophetic and healing teams.
We had wanted to come back to Asia for a couple of years to serve, but we just never felt the release and timing of the Lord to do so. But in July of 2005 a door was opened up to us and we felt He was leading us to move to Hong Kong. By the grace of God, on August 22nd, we were Ordained by MorningStar Fellowship of Ministries and sent out to do the Lord's work. Around the same period of time, we were also received by Christ's Mandate for Missions (CMM) as missionaries/members. We are currently establishing ourselves in the land and we have seen the favor of the Lord do some miraculous things on our behalf. After Randy arrived here on Chinese New Year Day Jan 28th, 2006, we inquired about getting his visa. We were told by different parties that it could take at least 4-6 weeks to get a visa after we handed in our application form. Even when we went to ask questions and fill out the forms, the Immigration Officer gave us an interview date and he also told us that it would probably take at least 4-6 weeks after the interview before Randy could get the visa. But amazingly, twelve days later, we went for the interview, we took a number and waited, about 45 minutes later, not only did Randy have his visa but the Officer suggested that he also apply for his Hong Kong Identification Card and 45 minutes later Randy received his temporary Identification card! Praise the Lord! He is so awesome!
We have many connections with many churches and ministries in Hong Kong but we have been too busy, so we are waiting for the best timing to connect with them again. Recently, the Lord showed us He would reach the city through the market place. We have been friends with Barbara Chan who heads up Harvest Evangelism's Hong Kong chapter of Market Place Ministries and we have a desire to work beside them. We feel the best way to keep market place ministers motivated in the work place and to bring the Kingdom of God there is for them to know: 1). intimacy with God; 2). their giftings and callings; 3). to be able to hear His voice even in the midst of chaos. Therefore, as God opens doors for us, we are hoping to provide the training for people to know these things in a practical way. In the process we will also ask the Lord to bring those who will be leaders that we can train, to also train others, to plant churches or whatever their callings may be. The Lord has given to His all children gifts and callings; they just need a little help in identifying them and to be released into their destiny. Jesus said His sheep know His voice and all any of us need is a little help to recognize it and then practice hearing it. With this basic knowledge in the hands of a believer they can storm the gates of hell and bring forth the Kingdom of God into the work place. It is the one place where a working person (market place minister) spends the majority of their time. So that is the place that we should bring forth His Kingdom effectively. This can be done without sacrificing a high standard of excellence in the work we do. Besides, how much better of a job could we do if we are bringing Jesus to work along side of us each day? If you want to build relationships and touch the lives of others, there is not a better place than where and with whom you are spending over 40 hours a week with! We are simply some humble, hungry vessels letting Jesus shine through us to be a blessing to the nations. We want to see people being raised up so they can be a blessing to others. The reality is, with love, faith, patient and prayer, nothing is impossible to those who believe. We, as the body of Christ, can take the city for Jesus in due time, then the nation.
You can change a nation(s), but only by His grace. You can help with Church Planting, Disaster Relief, Well Drilling, School Curriculum, Teachers and Pastoral Training, Church and School Construction, Travel funds for team members, Medical, Educational, Pastoral staff salaries.

Thailand: Elaine Worthington

Hi friends,
Lots of love and blessings to you... Thank you for your prayers... Thanks for holding so many up to Him... There is such life in a prayer, the spoken Word brings life, He really does answer. And He has...
Someone sent me a scripture and it has been so encouraging to me... all of Isaiah 58 really, but this is what they sent... I am holding it close to me even now. "The Lord will guide you continually, And satisfy your soul in drought, And strengthen your bones; You shall be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters do not fail..." I pray this is true for me, and claiming it for all of us at this time!
I have just flown to northern Thailand for a completely different kind of work. Now it is time to reach out with His love to Buddhists and Animists. The north is filled with the hill tribes, refugees, homeless and helpless... more and more they open up to Him. Still, it can be slow-going. So every meeting with every one counts, every second counts! I look forward to being with the kids again too... and making a difference, bringing His life to them.
Much happened in the south on the campaign, the Purim outreach. Everyone is encouraged, the churches in Phuket are encouraged and better equipped... They worked so hard with us... with love and muscle and sweat. We met so many people, all sorts of people... many Israeli's, and Jews from around the world. Some met the Lord, some want to know more... some heard and wonder, seeds were planted, some were watered, some blossomed... There is a great follow-up plan for the Israeli's... The Purim celebration we had was beyond our hopes...
Purim is the day, when God delivered Israel out of the hands of Haman who planned to kill all the Jews in a Holocaust as like never before. Today, God wants to deliver His people Israel... He sent His Son, Jesus, the Messiah... He came "for the Jew first and also for the Gentile" (Romans 1:16) to give us eternal life in Him. The Jews are beautiful people and so much fun... especially when they celebrate Purim! The message that night impacted many... The Lord was so gracious...
(They had to be so careful around each other. We had a message for an entire Banquet Hall of unbelievers. Henry spoke courageously. There is great (and dangerous) persecution among the religious Jews. And even among the secular Jews, there's a strong peer pressure to reject the Messiah... Yet there are many who honestly want to know more, who honestly want to know Him. Some secretly came around for more information, others left their names and addresses... and some were ready to truly receive Him and His new life right there...)
The Thai churches there really pulled together, there are real saints among the believers there, such a vast difference between Thai Believers and Thai Buddhists. The Believers are anticipating the locals we met to come and learn of Him... We spent time reaching out to everyone and there are a lot of people on the Island who have nowhere else to go... It's the end of the road, they think... but He is there.
It was a wonderful way to go out with the Gospel... and to see His lovingkindness, His mercy reach out in such places on earth... like Patong Beach in Phuket, Thailand... Streets were so packed there that they closed them to cars. Crowds of people from all over the world, all different kinds of people...
But day and night and night and day... I need my youth restored!
We learned more about what the Lord has in mind there... some of the supernatural things He is doing... and when you hear the stories and visit where He has visited, it gives you great hope. That's the word I kept hearing. I had 'hope' for these people, for this region. I had holy 'hope,' something different than I'd ever experienced... It gave me energy, faith to press on with His saving grace and His love...
His name will be great, even there, even in this dark nation of Thailand and the nations around it...
Thanks for all your encouraging words, for your prayers. Hope things are good there... We all get so busy, even here, but at special times each day... "Wait on the LORD; Be of good courage, And He shall strengthen your heart..." Ps 27:14
Well, now in the north and there's much to do... a pastor is coming to meet me soon. I know I will be glad to meet him, his friends in the south helped us so much. Another team from the states may join with me... Hope they do, in His timing of course. Must pray and sometime... get a little more sleep... and go on with Him. Thankful for you! God bless you more and more!
Love Elaine

Hope in the midst of ongoing slaughter...

Orphans in the midst of one of history's worst genocides ever... have learned to pray. The Lord knows each one and has a plan for them. We cannot forget them. These live in a refugee camp high in the mountains of Thailand at the Burma border. The girls in the center share a small bamboo dormitory at a Christian orphanage in the camp. There are near seventy kids here who receive food and shelter by the same group that opened a school and a Bible school in the camp. They go to school and study hard. They also know Jesus and they love Him. Learning more and more about Him... Two brothers in a crisis on the right... They came ahead of their Keran parents two years ago, but have never seen or heard from their family since. Many Keran are hiding in the jungles, more and more are being slaughtered.

A humble servant of India teaching Dalit (Untouchable) children with the Touch of Jesus Christ, John carries a burning passion for the neglected. This comes from a life of first-hand experience: a childhood spent as a member of the “untouchable” class to which he now ministers. The fruit of this experience is a labor of love which is currently reaching untouched villages with the Way, the Truth, and the Light. India: A land of one billion souls with over three million gods. With an average income of under $300 a year, many who are of lower income, particularly the Dalits or untouchables, have to fend for themselves. This answer to this dilemma is the love of Jesus.
John Ebenezer reaches India with that love through church planting, the drilling of wells, caring for the orphan and the homeless, and more.
John has a vision for a new school near Hyderabad to reach out to “untouchable children”. They have very little chance of an education without our help. The goal is fifty students. Help is needed for teachers, cooks, sanitation staff, and house parents. A child can be supported for $40.00 per month with tuition, housing, food, and uniform.
John also feeds widows who have no support and are not able to work. For $10.00 a month a widow can be given enough to survive. John has loving women pastors who care for and minister the love of God to these precious ladies.
Wells can be drilled in Andhra Pradesh rural areas for $850.00 giving 5,000 or more access to clean, safe water.
Churches can be built for $10,000. USD. John has built two churches in the last year.
